چکیده

The paper gives a survey on the new Expectationbased Multifocal Saccadic Vision (EMS-Vision) system for autonomous vehicle guidance developed at the Universität der Bundeswehr München (UBM). EMS-Vision is the third generation dynamic vision system following the 4-D approach. Its core element is a new camera arrangement, mounted on a high bandwidth pan-tilt head for active gaze control. Central knowledge representation and a hierarchical system architecture allow efficient activation and control of behavioral capabilities for perception and action. The system has been implemented on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware components in both UBM test vehicles VaMoRs and VaMP. Results from autonomous turnoff maneuvers, performed on army proving grounds, are discussed.

A Distributed Control Architecture for Autonomous Operation of a Hybrid AC/DC Microgrid System

Hybrid AC/DC microgrids facilitate the procedure of DC power connection into the conventional AC power system by developing the distributed generations (DGs) technologies. The conversion processes between AC and DC electrical powers are more convenient by hybrid systems. In this paper, an energy management system (EMS) for a hybrid microgrid network is proposed due to the optimal utilization of...

Modeling and Intelligent Control System Design for Overtaking Maneuver in Autonomous Vehicles

The purpose of this study is to design an intelligent control system to guide the overtaking maneuver with a higher performance than the existing systems. Unlike the existing models which consider constant values for some of the effective variables of this behavior, in this paper, a neural network model is designed based on the real overtaking data using instantaneous values for variables. A fu...

Scheduling of Multiple Autonomous Guided Vehicles for an Assembly Line Using Minimum Cost Network Flow

This paper proposed a parallel automated assembly line system to produce multiple products having multiple autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs). Several assembly lines are configured to produce multiple products in which the technologies of machines are shared among the assembly lines when required. The transportation between the stations in an assembly line (intra assembly line) and among station...

Vision Based Global Navigation System for Autonomous Urban Transport Vehicles in Outdoor Partially Known Environments

This paper describes a vision-based system for autonomous urban transport missions in outdoor environments. Specialized modules are implemented for particular tasks such as lane tracking and navigation along crossing points. A system that can execute a complex mission cannot simply be the sum of its perceptual modalities, and so, there needs to be a "plan" which uses high level knowledge about ...

Fuzzy matching of visual cues in an unmanned airborne vehicle

Computer vision systems used in autonomous mobile vehicles are typically linked to higher level deliberation processes One important aspect of this link is how to connect or anchor the symbols used at the higher level to the objects in the vision sys tem that these symbols refer to Anchoring is complicated by the fact that the vision data are inherently a ected by uncertainty We propose an anch...
